Senior Associate, Quality Engineer (Level 2) – ContractOverview

We are seeking a Senior Associate, Quality Engineer (Level 2) to support moderately complex projects within a dynamic aerospace manufacturing environment. This contract role operates under moderate supervision while also requiring independent judgment and problem-solving. The ideal candidate will contribute directly to maintaining product quality, ensuring compliance with engineering and customer specifications, and driving operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Applying engineering expertise to communicate effectively between cross-functional teams and customer counterparts to validate hardware compliance
  • Identifying, managing, and communicating deviations and nonconformances at multiple organizational levels
  • Understanding and communicating core aerospace manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, and non‑destructive testing, and how they apply to hardware production
  • Applying modern quality engineering principles, including Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools, to routine manufacturing and aerospace operations
  • Interpreting engineering drawings, technical specifications, customer quality requirements, and internal quality standards to ensure full compliance
  • Participating in the review, analysis, and disposition of nonconforming materials and products
  • Interfacing with the Material Review Board (MRB) to provide technical justifications when nonconformance to agreed specifications is identified
  • Supporting continuous improvement efforts that help achieve operational targets impacting departmental performance
Work Environment & Collaboration

This position involves frequent communication with internal teams and external partners, including customers and vendors. You will collaborate closely with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams, contributing to a multi‑functional environment focused on quality assurance, compliance, and efficiency.

Required Skills & Competencies
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships across operational groups, suppliers, customers, and all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work independently while managing larger, moderately complex assignments
  • Working knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes and quality systems
  • Exposure to product development within a cross‑functional or multi‑disciplinary team environment (preferred)
  • Problem‑solving mindset with the ability to make basic adjustments to systems and processes to resolve quality issues
Education & Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant quality, manufacturing, or aerospace experience
