Job summary

SS&C Technologies is seeking a Senior Associate, Private Markets Fund Accounting to join our Private Markets team in San Francisco. You will perform bank reconciliations, post journal entries, and manage capital activity across diverse investments, delivering accurate work within strict deadlines.

You’ll work with senior professionals, prepare workpapers, and support year-end audits, while building strong client relationships and ensuring timely delivery of complex fund accounting tasks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• 2+ years of accounting experience with general ledgers, workpapers, and financial statement preparation.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office suite.
• Highly detail-oriented with strong ownership and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Proven ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform bank reconciliations and post journal entries to ensure accurate financial records.
• Deliver high-quality, accurate work within tight reporting deadlines, taking ownership of key deliverables.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive workpapers, including capital activity, investment transactions, and income/expense accruals.
• Update and manage distribution waterfall (carried interest) models with precision.
• Calculate management fees and produce detailed supporting schedules.
• Analyze transaction documentation to understand investment structures, accounting impacts, and accrual requirements.
• Support the year-end audit process, partnering closely with internal teams, clients, and external auditors.
• Build strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders, including legal counsel, auditors, and tax advisors, to ensure seamless execution and timely delivery.
