IQ-EQ is a leading service provider to the alternative asset industry. We assist managers across various capacities, including hedge fund, private equity fund, and mutual fund launches; private equity fund administration; advisory firm setup; regulatory registration; infrastructure design; ongoing regulatory compliance (SEC, CFTC, and 40 Act); financial controls; operational support services; compliance and operational reviews; and outsourced CFO/controller and administration services for private equity fund investments, portfolio companies, real estate assets, and energy assets. Our client base is expanding, with existing clients engaging us across our full range of services.

Job Responsibilities

1. Liaise with clients’ external auditors, administrators, HR/payroll, and other service providers.
2. Deliver outsourced CFO and related services to Hedge Funds and Private Equity Funds in collaboration with clients.
3. Provide daily operational support by working with team members and clients.
4. Create financial models, analyze budgets versus actuals, and participate in ad-hoc financial analysis and projects.
5. Review NAVs, allocations, investor statements, and reconciliations.
6. Prepare and review expense and accrual schedules, management fee calculations, and incentive allocations.
7. Assist in the preparation of fund and management company financial statements.
8. Maintain proper accounting practices for assigned clients.
9. Research accounting principles and advise teams or clients as needed.
10. Evaluate current financial and accounting processes for new clients, propose improvements, and assist with implementation.
11. Support clients in opening brokerage and bank accounts.
12. Coordinate and participate in weekly, monthly, or as-needed conference calls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting; CPA preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in the alternative investment management industry (hedge fund, private equity, venture capital, real estate).
• Public accounting experience is a plus.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
• Passion for working in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
• Hard-working, self-starter, dedicated, punctual, and personable.
• Strong accounting and analytical skills.
• Ability to identify problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions efficiently.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with QuickBooks, OpenAir, Bill.com, Expensify is advantageous.

Additional Information

Salary ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 based on experience and location. A comprehensive benefits package is offered.
