Deerpath Capital is seeking a Senior Associate for its Chicago office to span underwriting, portfolio management, and restructuring. The role involves evaluating investment opportunities, analyzing credit risk, and supporting deal execution alongside senior deal team members.

The ideal candidate will have 5–8 years in principal investing or related fields, strong modeling skills, and the ability to mentor junior staff while travel is expected.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree required with strong academic achievement.
• 5-8 years of relevant experience in principal investing (private credit, private equity), investment banking, leveraged finance, restructuring, or corporate banking.
• Strong understanding of credit analysis, complex financial modeling, valuation analysis, and legal documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor junior team members; willingness to travel.

Aufgaben

• Underwrite investment opportunities for existing portfolio companies and present recommendations to the investment committee
• Actively manage credit investments by analyzing changes in company performance and industry trends
• Drive deal execution and develop relationships with private equity sponsors, management teams, and industry stakeholders
• Develop and review complex financial models, including LBO, cash flow analysis, and valuations
• Support amendment negotiations and deal structuring
• Coordinate documentation workstreams, including review and negotiation of credit agreements and amendments
• Partner with the restructuring team on workouts and mentor junior team members
