Job description

Tenfold seeks a Senior Associate to join a private credit investment firm in Washington, D.C., focused on digital infrastructure, technology services, and enterprise software.

We’re looking for someone who built a foundation in investment banking or leveraged finance and then moved to the buy side, where they’ve executed, underwritten, and actively managed deals. The firm has a strong track record in private credit with a concentrated focus on digital infrastructure, technology services, and enterprise software. The group is in an active growth phase, having recently brought on a senior leader to build out the strategy and promoted from within. As a senior member of a lean DC office, you’ll lead deals, mentor junior team members, and own portfolio relationships from day one.

This is an opportunity to join a firm that uses a thesis-driven approach to identify and invest in middle-market businesses with strong recurring revenue models across sectors that are reshaping how digital economies are built and operated.

What You’ll Do
As a Senior Associate, you’ll be responsible for:
  • Leading underwriting and structuring across credit investments in digital infrastructure, technology services, and enterprise software.
  • Driving deal execution end to end, from initial diligence through documentation and close.
  • Owning portfolio company relationships, including monitoring performance, navigating amendments, and managing through credit events.
  • Mentoring Associates and Analysts, reviewing their work, and developing the bench.
  • Partnering directly with the senior leader on strategy, pipeline development, and investment committee preparation.
What We’re Looking For
  • Background: A foundation of roughly 2 years in investment banking or leveraged finance, followed by 2 to 3 years on the buy side in private credit or private equity. We want someone who learned the technical fundamentals in a banking or LevFin seat and then sharpened them through real underwriting and portfolio work as a principal investor.
  • Underwriting depth: You can build the model, defend the structure, and walk an IC through your thesis without leaning on a senior. You’ve worked through a credit event or two and know what good portfolio management actually looks like.
  • Sector exposure: Familiarity with technology, digital infrastructure, or software is a plus. Specialist experience isn’t required, but you should be able to engage credibly with these themes and ramp quickly.
  • Location: Washington DC. Candidates with a long-term commitment to the market are strongly preferred.
  • Mindset: Thesis-driven, analytically rigorous, and ready to operate as a senior voice in a lean team. You do the work yourself, you stand behind it, and you can run a process without hand-holding.
