Job summary

theocc is seeking an Associate Principal to drive architecture and development of scalable, cloud-based solutions for financial risk management. You will mentor teams, lead design reviews, and collaborate with business and product owners to transform the enterprise into a data-driven organization.

You will contribute to architecture strategy, guide developers, and ensure adherence to SDLC, security, and performance standards in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience building large-scale, compute and event-driven solutions.
• Java 8+ experience is required.
• OOP design, advanced patterns (e.g., AOP) and multithreading experience is required.
• Experience with distributed message brokers such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, or Kinesis.
• Cloud technologies with AWS services (VPC, EC2, RDS, S3, IAM) preferred.
• Exposure to Spark or Flink and DevOps tooling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Actively participates and leads requirement analysis and reviews to identify missing or incomplete requirements.
• Design highly performing, scalable, secure, reliable, and cost-optimized solutions.
• Lead design and development of next-gen clearing applications within an agile framework.
• Perform thorough code reviews and ensure high engineering standards.
• Write unit and integration tests and support SDLC governance.
• Mentor developers and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
