Job summary

Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; medium proficiency in Excel.
  • Basic proficiency in CRM applications such as Salesforce.com.

Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

AmeriSpeak is a growing, fast-paced, innovative, probability-based panel housed within NORC at the University of Chicago, a world leader in research excellence. The Panel Business Development Senior Associate is responsible for assisting the AmeriSpeak team in developing new business accounts, products, and opportunities, and managing day-to-day operations. This includes attending client meetings, record keeping in Salesforce, drafting price quotes and contracts, and other administrative duties that support the team. The position may also include providing support to internal initiatives and key client accounts.

Location: This is a hybrid role based in our Chicago downtown office, with a minimum of six days per month in the office.

AmeriSpeak is the first U.S. multiclient household panel to combine the speed and cost-effectiveness of panel surveys with enhanced representativeness of the U.S. population, an approach designed to achieve an industry-leading response rate and an innovative sample quality report card. AmeriSpeak has become the primary survey partner of the nation's preeminent news service, The Associated Press.

Developed and funded by NORC, AmeriSpeak randomly identifies Americans-including the country's hardest-to-reach populations-and recruits them to provide their opinions and insights on a wide range of topics critical to our clients. The outcome is a truly representative picture of America and, thus, more accurate research results for use in statistical surveys.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support the development of new client opportunities.
    • This includes attending client meetings, entering details and updates in Salesforce, drafting price quotes and contracts, setting up newly won projects, and handling other duties as assigned.
  • At management's discretion, the Senior Associate will also lead opportunities and create pricing and proposals for basic opportunities valued under $100,000.
    • Leading an opportunity includes being the client's primary point of contact, leading sales calls and kickoff meetings, and making final decisions on pricing.
  • Provide support to the AmeriSpeak suite of products and services.
    • This may include record keeping, communication, collecting and synthesizing information, and other administrative duties.
  • Support key AmeriSpeak accounts.
    • This may include pricing and documenting new opportunities, client-related record keeping, and sharing details and data with internal NORC teams.
  • Provide training and mentorship to new staff and Associates.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 2 years of experience in social science or market research, technical sales, or related fields.
  • Working knowledge of statistics, mathematics, scientific methods of inquiry, and/or survey research.
  • Experience with quantitative methods and how to gather and analyze data from different information sources.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

The pay range for this position is $69,000 - $87,000.

This position is classified as regular. Regular staff are eligible for NORC's comprehensive benefits program. Benefits include, but are not limited to:
