Job summary

IQ-EQ is seeking a seasoned Funds/Portfolio Accountant to join our Investor Services team in New Jersey. You will review NAV packages, maintain fund accounting records, and ensure accuracy across monthly reports and third-party valuations, working with clients and custodians to resolve discrepancies.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance, 4+ years in hedge funds or fund accounting, and strong Excel skills along with experience in Enfusion and Geneva.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in financial services, preferably hedge funds, fund accounting, or middle office operations.
• Strong knowledge of financial instruments across global markets.
• Excellent attention to detail, multitasking abilities and strong accounting/analytical skills.
• Proficient in advanced Excel and portfolio accounting systems (Enfusion, Geneva).

Responsibilities

• Review monthly NAV packages and update portfolio accounting systems.
• Build and maintain fund accrual schedules; calculate management and performance fees; review monthly valuation reports.
• Process, record, and reconcile performance reporting, contributions, distributions, and corporate actions.
• Prepare and manage reconciliations of positions, trades, cash, market values, and accruals.
• Collaborate with clients, prime brokers, and internal teams to resolve trade breaks and support ad hoc requests.

Job Description

What you’ll do

• You'll review monthly NAV packages, update portfolio accounting systems as needed, and maintain accurate fund accounting records.
• You'll build and maintain fund accrual schedules, calculate management and performance fees, and review monthly valuation reports with third-party valuation firms.
• You'll process, record, and reconcile performance reporting, contributions, distributions, corporate actions, and expense payments.
• You'll prepare and manage daily, monthly, and tri-party reconciliations of positions, trades, cash, market values, and accruals, ensuring accuracy between client records and custodians.
• You'll collaborate with clients, prime brokers, and internal teams to resolve trade breaks, manage subscription and redemption documentation, and support ad hoc requests.

Qualifications

• You have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field, with at least 4 years of experience in financial services, preferably in hedge funds, fund accounting, or middle office operations.
• You possess strong knowledge of financial instruments, including equities, fixed income, options, swaps, futures, and foreign exchange across global markets.
• You demonstrate excellent attention to detail, multitasking abilities, and strong accounting and analytical skills to support complex financial processes.
• You communicate effectively through strong written and verbal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive client relationships.
• You are proficient in advanced Excel and portfolio accounting systems such as Enfusion and Geneva, while being hardworking, dependable, punctual, and professional.
