Job summary

SCOR seeks an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to collaborate with the US Head of Financial Solutions and senior SCOR leadership. The role focuses on problem solving, deal structuring and execution for financial solutions clients, primarily in the US, with coordination with Europe and Asia when needed.

Responsibilities include legal advice, risk mitigation, management of outside counsel, contract review, and leading projects with minimal supervision while protecting the Company’s interests.

Qualifications

• Minimum Experience: 7-10+ years in private practice or corporate environment.
• Insurance or reinsurance experience in financial solutions is required.
• Must possess excellent research and writing skills.
• Must be a self-starter capable of engaging internal clients and delivering quality legal advice.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with professionals from multiple disciplines.
• Must deliver high quality work product and work with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects and teams with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and counsel to business lines and leadership.
• Risk mitigation, assessment and guidance to management.
• Active management of outside counsel.
• Document review, negotiation and preparation within expected timeframes and high quality.
• Identify and protect the Company’s interests in all matters.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
