Job summary

Capital One seeks a Senior Associate risk advisor within the Finance Risk Management team in Richmond, VA, focusing on FPDS data and technology risks affecting daily financial operations. The role requires strong advisory capabilities and collaboration with data and product teams across Finance and Technology.

You will perform risk assessments, support audits and regulatory exams, and help mature FRM governance, reporting to leaders while partnering with stakeholders in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or military experience
• At least 2 years of experience in a Finance-related field
• At least 2 years of Operational Risk advisory or Audit experience with data or technology relevance

Responsibilities

• Support the FRM data risk lead for FPDS
• Provide risk advisory services to the Finance Divisional Data Risk Officer and various data and product teams
• Foster productive networks to provide advisory services to FPDS, business, and technology stakeholders
• Perform risk assessments to ensure teams are adhering to internal risk standards
• Synthesize information to influence leaders and identify themes for the risk story
• Assist with audit and regulatory exam preparations as they pertain to responsible areas
• Champion process or controls improvements considering emerging technologies
• Identify opportunities to mature FRM practices and governance
• Provide risk education and support to stakeholders as the risk SME
• Report on health of work assigned and maintain documentation
