Job summary

NYU Langone Health in New York seeks an experienced Associate Director of the Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Service to guide clinical, educational, administrative, and quality/safety missions for medically ill patients.

The role entails direct clinical consultation, supervision of trainees and faculty, collaboration with medical and surgical teams, development of hospital-wide CL psychiatry approaches, and mentoring of early-career faculty.

Qualifications

• Board Certified or board-eligible in Psychiatry.
• New York State medical license required.
• At least 3 years of experience in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry as an attending.
• Leadership, educational, quality improvement or systems-development experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert psychiatric consultation for hospitalized medically complex patients across hospital settings.
• Supervise trainees and faculty, participate in administrative meetings with Hospital Leadership.
• Lead clinical workflow, triage, consultation standards, and attending coverage.
• Oversee service volume and target metrics in collaboration with the Director.
• Lead hospital-wide quality and safety initiatives related to psychiatric care in medical settings.
• Foster interdisciplinary partnerships to develop patient-centered, clinically sound approaches.
• Lead and support educational initiatives and weekly didactics for residents and fellows.
• Mentor early-career CL Psychiatry faculty and trainees through supervision and guidance.
• Drive academic productivity through case reports, quality improvement, and educational scholarship.
