This opportunity is with a world-class global investment organization managing a diverse portfolio of private equity, credit, venture capital, real estate, and public market investments. The firm is recognized for its long-term investment approach, operational excellence, and commitment to leveraging data, technology, and AI to drive business outcomes across its global platform.
A leading global investment firm is seeking a senior, hands-on Senior Associate, Data Products to join its growing data organization. This individual will own Private Equity data products within the firm's Snowflake ecosystem, driving everything from foundational platform architecture to business-critical data processes.
Reporting to the Director of Data Products, this role is ideal for an experienced technologist with deep Snowflake expertise and strong platform engineering instincts. The successful candidate thinks in systems rather than point solutions, leverages AI-enabled development tools to accelerate delivery, and approaches infrastructure, governance, and permissions as code.
This position partners closely with stakeholders across Private Equity Finance, Investment Operations, and Data Governance. The solutions built in this role, including data certification, lineage, quality controls, and platform automation, will establish standards and best practices across the broader enterprise data landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Own data ingestion, transformation, and modeling for Private Equity data sources, including fund accounting, valuation, portfolio performance monitoring, HR, and time-tracking systems
- Deliver solutions from requirements through production deployment using AI-assisted development practices, ensuring quality, accuracy, and scalability
- Embed data certification, ownership workflows, business definitions, lineage, and data quality controls directly into the platform architecture in partnership with Data Governance leadership
- Ensure reliability and performance of critical data pipelines, particularly during quarterly close cycles. Implement monitoring, alerting, and root-cause resolution processes.
- Configure and optimize Snowflake environments, including role-based access controls, warehouse management, cost optimization, data sharing, and multi-account architectures
- Manage infrastructure, permissions, governance metadata, and deployment processes as code using modern DevOps and CI/CD practices
- Translate complex investment and operational business processes into scalable data models and platform solutions
- Contribute to product roadmap planning and technical strategy alongside product management leadership
- Establish engineering standards, conduct architecture and code reviews, and mentor both contractor and offshore engineering resources
- Partner closely with Data Engineering, Information Security, Cloud Operations, and business stakeholders to deliver secure and scalable data products
Required Technical Experience
- Deep expertise with Snowflake, including:
- Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
- Cost and warehouse management
- Data sharing
- Hands-on experience leveraging AI coding tools and agents (such as Cursor, Codex, Claude Code, or similar) to accelerate software and data engineering delivery
- Expert-level SQL and data modeling experience, including dimensional modeling and layered data architecture approaches
- Experience implementing Infrastructure-as-Code and Data-as-Code practices using:
- Terraform
- GitHub Actions
- Governance-as-Code and policy-driven frameworks
- Airflow orchestration experience
- Working knowledge of dbt
- Strong understanding of data governance principles, including ownership, lineage, certification, and data quality management
- Experience with AWS services such as S3, serverless technologies, ECR, and monitoring solutions including Datadog and CloudWatch
- Experience supporting private markets, alternative investments, or fund accounting environments is highly desirable
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 7+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms, software engineering, or related technical disciplines.
- Strong background in software architecture, design patterns, and scalable systems design.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to finance, operations, and business stakeholders.
- Proven track record translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Demonstrated ownership of products and platforms from design through production support.
- Experience mentoring engineers and helping elevate technical standards across teams.
- Experience evaluating, implementing, or supporting AI-enabled technologies that improve business processes and operational efficiency is preferred.
