Job summary

Weber Shandwick in Washington, DC is seeking a curious, creative Senior Associate to join our corporate and public affairs team. You will execute communications, reputation management, and earned media strategies for high‑profile corporate, advocacy, and public sector clients.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in communications, public relations or public affairs (agency or Capitol Hill experience a strong plus).
• A strong understanding of the media landscape, particularly within the Beltway and national media.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to translate complex policy or corporate issues into clear, compelling narratives for various audiences.
• Bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Draft high-quality, strategic written materials, including press releases, op-eds, messaging frameworks, executive briefing documents, and social media copy.
• Proactively monitor the media landscape, build and maintain targeted media lists, draft compelling pitches, and conduct outreach to reporters across business, policy, and trade publications.
• Conduct in-depth research and synthesize complex data into digestible insights regarding industry trends, legislative/regulatory developments, competitor activity, and media coverage to inform client strategy.
• Actively participate in team brainstorms, bringing fresh, culturally resonant ideas to the table to advance client priorities.
• Support account management by coordinating team and client meetings, developing status reports, and helping to manage and track deadlines.
