Job summary

Blue Sage Capital, a private equity firm based in Austin, TX, is seeking a Senior Associate to join its SBIC Fund. The role focuses on deal review, financial modeling and due diligence across lower middle-market companies in the U.S.

The senior associate will lead analyses, prepare investment memos, coordinate with third parties, and help shape portfolio strategy while traveling for site visits and board meetings as needed.

Responsibilities

• New deal review and assessment.
• Conduct financial, operational and market analysis to support diligence of potential investments.
• Help lead due diligence efforts, including creation of diligence lists, industry research and coordination of third-party providers.
• Prepare financial models, investment memos and portfolio review documents to share with stakeholders.
• Review data rooms in detail and synthesize findings.
• Actively participate in internal and external conversations surrounding potential investments and portfolio companies.
• Monitor portfolio company performance and listen in to Board meetings as an observer.
• Travel for company site visits and select board meetings.
• Represent Blue Sage and articulate our strategy and investment criteria to prospective companies, investment bankers, lenders, co-investors, and more

Senior Associate

Founded in 2003 and based in Austin, Texas, Blue Sage Capital is a private equity fund with over $1Bn AUM. In addition to its recently raised $618 million Fund IV, the firm just closed its inaugural Blue Sage Strategic Credit SBIC Fund with $288 million of total committed capital. The firm is seeking Associates and a Senior Associate to join the new SBIC Fund, which will invest mezzanine debt and equity (control and non-control) in lower middle market companies across the U.S.

Responsibilities
