Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced accounting professional to join its Assurance Advisory practice in a client‑facing role. You will perform outsourced accounting, reconcile monthly, quarterly, and annual books, and prepare financial statements under US GAAP and IFRS as applicable.

You will support SEC reporting, draft technical memos, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure timely financial reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA license or CPA eligibility strongly preferred.
  • 3–6 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting; IFRS a plus.
  • Experience preparing financial statements, reconciliations, and memos.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Xero or similar.
  • Advanced Excel: pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling.
  • MS Word and PowerPoint proficiency.
  • MS Teams, Zoom, and project platforms (Asana or Monday.com).
  • ERP implementations or integrations a plus.
  • Exposure to private equity-backed or high-growth firms.
  • IPO readiness, M&A transactions, or carve-outs experience.
  • Advisory/consulting or client-service background.
  • Familiarity with Power BI or Tableau.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; multi-priority management.

Responsibilities

  • Perform outsourced accounting functions for clients
  • Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations
  • Maintain general ledgers
  • Prepare financial statements under US GAAP and IFRS as applicable
  • Prepare and assist with non-SEC financial statements and internal management reports
  • Assist with SEC reporting, including Forms 10-K and 10-Q, for public clients as applicable
  • Draft and review technical accounting memos on revenue recognition, lease accounting, equity transactions, business combinations, and other complex issues
  • Assist in implementing new accounting standards and policies
  • Support audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor inquiries
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to automation initiatives
  • Maintain compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements
  • Serve as a liaison for client engagements, coordinating with client accounting teams and internal managers
  • Support and mentor junior staff
  • Work with colleagues across Assurance Advisory, Management Consulting, and Transaction Services
  • Engage with leadership in the Westchester, NY office and other advisory hubs
  • Stay current on accounting standards, technical guidance, and industry best practices
  • Participate in training, mentorship, and professional development programs
  • Contribute to the growth and operational excellence of the AAS practice

Job description

Requirements

  • Experience with ERP implementations or integrations is a plus

  • Experience supporting IPO readiness, M&A transactions, or carve-outs
  • Background in advisory, consulting, or client service roles
  • Familiarity with financial modeling and data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, client-focused environment
