Job summary

Jobtailor in the United States is seeking an Assistant Controller to support routine accounting activities and the month-end close, producing timely financial statements and profitability analyses. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• 2–3 years of professional accounting or finance experience.
• CPA designation and/or public accounting audit experience preferred.
• Proficiency with accounting transactions, financial data, and reporting.
• Experience with ERP systems preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Controller with month-end close and financial reporting, including variances and profitability analysis.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages for leadership and Board.
• Partner with operations to maintain forecasts and assess financial impact of projects.
• Perform financial analysis and provide insights to operational leaders.
• Collaborate with US/Canada units on annual budgeting with CFO and Controller.
• Support Shared Services with cross-functional collaboration (Finance/IT/HR/Legal).
• Develop ERP proficiency and drive process improvements and automation.
• Assist with annual audits and tax compliance.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and data.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting, controls, and efficiency.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

• Assist the Controller with routine accounting activities and financial reporting, including month-end close, financial statements, profitability analysis, budget-to-actual variance analysis, and other strategic reporting
• Compile and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages for operational leaders, the C-Suite, and Board of Directors
• Partner with operational leaders to maintain business-unit forecasts and understand the financial impact of projects and activities
• Perform financial analysis and provide meaningful financial insights to operational leaders
• Collaborate with business units in the United States and Canada to prepare the annual budget and work with the Controller and CFO to finalize the budget package
• Partner with Finance, IT, Human Resources, Legal, and other functions as part of the Shared Services team
• Develop proficiency in the ERP system and identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities
• Assist with annual financial audit and tax compliance processes
• Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and financial data
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting and finance processes, reporting, controls, and operational efficiency
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline required
• Minimum of 2–3 years of professional accounting or finance experience
• Demonstrated experience with accounting transactions, financial data, financial reporting, and analysis
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively across departments and communicate financial information to both financial and non‑financial audiences
• Experience working with or learning enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems preferred
• CPA designation and/or public accounting audit experience preferred
