Job summary

Stafford County Public Schools is seeking an Assistant Principal for high school through an applicant pool. The role supports instructional leadership, school management, and compliance with district policies.

You will work with staff, students, and families to maintain a safe, effective learning environment. The position requires a Master’s degree and a Postgraduate Professional Certificate with an endorsement in Administration and Supervision, plus several years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university is required.
• Three (3) years of successful, full-time experience as a teacher, supervisor or administrator.
• Postgraduate Professional Certificate with an endorsement in Administration and Supervision.

Responsibilities

• Maintain daily school functions.
• Supervise daily use of school facilities for academic and non-academic purposes.
• Plan for improvement of instruction, school philosophy, and policies within District guidelines.
• Maintain discipline and implement the School Board’s Student Code of Conduct.
• Track referrals, follow-ups, evaluations, IEP meetings and reevaluations.
• Coordinate emergency preparedness and safety activities; update Crisis Plan.
• Meet with staff, committees, parents, and central office personnel.
• Assist with budget, procurement, supervision of staff and co-curricular activities.
• Schedule interviews and coordinate staffing; supervise student teachers and volunteers.
• Provide reports to Policy Council and supervisors; assist with grants and inventories.
