Job summary

Franklin County District Attorney’s Office seeks a Senior Assistant District Attorney to represent the Commonwealth and the County in prosecutions within the County. The role requires a Juris Doctor and PA bar admission, with at least three years as a criminal prosecutor.

The Senior Assistant handles complex cases, assists in trial preparation, and interacts with law enforcement and courts to uphold the Commonwealth’s and County’s interests.

Qualifications

• Juris doctor degree and admission to practice before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.
• Some training in computers helpful.
• Continuing legal education required.

Responsibilities

• Assists police in investigations and provides opinions to police.
• Represents the Commonwealth in prosecutions at all court levels.
• Conducts legal research and writes opinions.
• Drafts criminal complaints, warrants, and probable cause statements.
• Represents Commonwealth in Juvenile, appellate, and habeas corpus proceedings.
• Prepares witnesses for court appearances and manages case lists.
• Communicates and coordinates with law enforcement and other agencies.
