The Senior Assistant Director of Finance will oversee the daily operations of the Accounting function while supporting strategic financial leadership. You will ensure that all financial controls, books, records, and reporting are accurate, compliant, and aligned with Rosewood policies and regulatory requirements. This role plays a key part in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and operational decision-making, while also leading and developing a high-performing finance team.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Financial LeadershipSupport the development of financial strategies aligned with organizational goals and long-term vision.Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts, including payroll and overhead expense planning.Perform monthly financial analysis and report insights to senior leadership.Identify business opportunities and drive profitability.Operational Excellence.Oversee accounting operations to ensure compliance with hotel procedures and internal controls.Manage timelines for monthly reporting and ensure accuracy of journals, ledgers, and reconciliations.Review expense reports, payroll records, and reconciliations for accuracy and compliance.Support capital expenditure planning and ROI analysis.Controls, Compliance & Risk.Ensure all financial records and supporting documentation are accurate and properly maintained.Safeguard company assets including cash, contracts, and financial systems.Prepare for internal and external audits.Cash & Treasury Management.Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts and monitor daily cash balances.Ensure deposits, payments, and reconciliations are handled accurately.Team & Culture:Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse and capable finance team.Foster a positive work environment and high engagement.Support recruitment, training, and succession planning.Model Rosewood’s culture, vision, and values.Additional Duties & Responsibilities:Prepare journal entries in accordance with required procedures.Prepare Balance Sheet Reconciliation’s on a monthly basis; provide backup for each account.Perform any special projects required by the Director of Finance Business Partner.All other duties as required.Experience, Education, & Licensure:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.Miscellaneous Skills: Ability to input and access information into all hotel systems; ability to maintain concentration and think clearly; ability to prioritize, organize and follow-up; ability to promote positive relations with associates; ability to maintain confidentiality of Accounting information; ability to perform job functions with minimal supervision; ability to remain stationary at assigned post for extended periods of time; ability to focus on details and resolve numerical problems; ability to work cohesively with other departments and co-workers as part of a team; ability to perform multiple tasks at one time.The salary range for this position is $140,000 to $150,000. This is the pay range for this position that the Hotel reasonably expects to pay. This position also may be eligible for bonuses.
