Job summary

South Shore Stars, Inc. seeks an Assistant Director of Early Education Programs to help manage administrative and programmatic functions across Stars Preschool and Early Education Centers.

You will collaborate with the Director, Education Coordinator, Family Services, and Center Directors to ensure quality, safety, and compliance in daily operations. The role emphasizes curriculum support, staff development, program evaluation, and coordination with Schools and community partners to meet each

Qualifications

• Post-secondary studies in early childhood education or similar field.
• Minimum of five years’ experience teaching young children, including infants and toddlers.
• Experience administering Early Childhood programs in a large center.
• Experience with management of a team and ability to lead multiple programs in multiple communities.
• Demonstrated strong supervision skills.
• Public speaking, facilitation, communication, and team building experience.
• EEC Director 2 certification –in addition, Preschool and Infant/Toddler Lead Teacher Certification preferred.
• Must have transportation to visit centers and attend required meetings/trainings.
• Prefer applicants have experience with nonprofit agencies.
• Prefer applicants have experience working with at risk population and families involved with state agencies.
• Some evenings, weekends, and non-business hours required

Responsibilities

• Act in the Director’s absence for safety, compliance, and operations.
• Assist curriculum implementation and staff development.
• Support management of Directors and staff across centers.
• Design training and professional development for center directors and support staff.
• Help monitor program policies and procedures.
• Collaborate to ensure appropriate child assessments and their use.
• Lead program evaluation and action plan development for improvement.
• Maintain portals and accreditation preparation (NAEYC, etc.).
• Assist in classroom environment design and center interactions with children.
• Coordinate services with schools and other providers.
• Support family engagement and respond to parental concerns.
• Oversee transportation logistics within Stars routes when needed.
• Contribute to grants, budgets, and fundraising related to early education.
