Job summary

Alachua County seeks a Senior Assistant County Attorney to join its in-house legal team. This role emphasizes public procurement and real estate matters, with regular litigation and appearances before public boards. A hybrid schedule may be available, with Florida Bar licensure required.

The ideal candidate will have at least five years of relevant experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to advise county staff and boards effectively.

Qualifications

Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
Active Florida Bar Association membership.
At least five years of progressively responsible legal experience including litigation, with emphasis in public procurement or real estate.

Responsibilities

Litigate in designated areas of assignment.
Represent County departments, officials, boards, and commissions.
Draft contracts, deeds, resolutions, and other legal documents.
Advise County officers on legal matters and provide legal opinions.
Supervise subordinate staff and coordinate project work.
Attend meetings of the County Commission and other client meetings.
