Job summary

Paycom in Baldwin City, KS is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to coordinate the general ledger, prepare detailed financial reports, and provide insight to management for strategic decisions.

The role leads, mentors and develops the accounting team, ensuring accuracy, internal controls, and timely close processes across multi-state operations. Strong GAAP knowledge and 8+ years of leadership experience required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in financial management or accounting management.

Responsibilities

• Prepares various daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports or statements.
• Assists in month-end procedures, including account review, general ledger entries, account reconciliations, and analyzing general ledger information.
• Examines accounting information contained in reports and exhibits, traces and reconciles unusual variances.
• Performs and/or oversees complex account reconciliations.
• Helps maintain an accurate general ledger.
• Assists in overseeing customer accounts receivable activities, including collection efforts and helps maintain clean sub ledgers.
• Assists in overseeing accounts payable activities to ensure accurate recording, accurate tax treatment, and helps maintain clean sub ledgers.
• Assists in monthly multi-state sales and use tax reporting and return preparation.
• Works closely with employees throughout the organization in all departments to answer accounting questions and resolve issues.
• Assist in various audits, including annual financial statement, 401k, and insurance audits
• Helps manages recruiting, staffing and employee development activities for employees reporting to this position
• Other duties as assigned
