Job summary

Advanced Drainage Systems is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to lead core accounting operations and ensure timely, GAAP-compliant financial reporting. You will supervise the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, coordinate internal and external audits, and drive internal controls improvements.

You will partner with cross-functional teams to optimize financial systems (Oracle ERP) and develop a high-performing accounting team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation is required.
• 15+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 5 years in people leadership.
• Minimum 5 years of Big Four public accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and technical accounting research.
• Experience leading month-, quarter-, and year-end close in a complex organization.
• Experience coordinating internal and external audits; system optimization experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the accounting team to ensure GAAP-compliant financial reporting.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and supporting schedules.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and analyses for accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain and enhance internal controls; implement improvements across processes.
• Support policies, procedures, and regulatory reporting; participate in audits.
• Oversee Oracle ERP and general ledger operations; drive system enhancements.
