Job summary

Hydro Service & Supplies, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Controller to own the integrity of financial records and lead the accounting function across multiple locations.

You will drive the monthly and annual close, prepare financial statements, maintain internal controls, and partner with the CFO on audits and tax compliance. You will supervise accounting staff, manage AR/AP, payroll, fixed assets, and revenue recognition for a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred.
• 7+ years progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role.
• Experience in multi-location or multi-state manufacturing, distribution, or field-services business preferred.
• Strong knowledge of NetSuite and advanced Excel.
• Discipline ownership of the full close GAAP statements.
• Experience coordinating external audits and multi-state tax compliance.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to translate financial detail for non-financial leaders.
• Proven people-management experience.
• High degree of accuracy and integrity with sensitive financial information.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close across all entities/locations per GAAP.
• Manage balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and account analyses; resolve discrepancies.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, fixed assets, and general ledger functions.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting; document and monitor key processes.
• Lead external audit and tax preparation coordination with auditors and preparers.
• Partner with the CFO on multi-state tax compliance including sales/use and state income/franchise tax filings.
• Lead cash management and treasury functions, including bank reconciliations and cash flow monitoring.
• Drive month-over-month and budget-to-actual variance analysis by division/location.
• Manage revenue recognition and cost of goods sold for a manufacturing company.
• Supervise, train, and develop accounting staff; establish close-cycle timelines and review procedures.
• Support the CFO with ad hoc financial analysis and board reporting packages.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
