St. Michael’s Inc. in Washington, DC is seeking an Asset Accounting Lead/Senior Asset Accountant to support an Intelligence Community client.

The role focuses on asset accounting, PP&E, IUS, CIP, and depreciation, with heavy coordination across government property accountability and finance teams. The position requires an active TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly, a degree in accounting or finance, and 5+ years of federal accounting experience.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polyper required.
• Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of Federal accounting experience.
• Experience with PP&E, IUS, leases, depreciation and amortization, CIP, and asset-related financial statement support.

Responsibilities

• Lead asset accounting, reporting, and reconciliation for real property, personal property, PP&E, IUS, leases, and CIP.
• Maintain asset data: acquisition cost and date, useful life, depreciation method, accumulation, location, custodian, condition, disposal info.
• Perform monthly reconciliations among property systems, GL accounts, and financial statement balances; document gaps and actions.
• Calculate depreciation and amortization using approved methods and capitalization thresholds.
• Support asset acquisitions, transfers, dispositions, retirements, impairments, lease activity, and CIP; identify stale CIP balances and transfer completed projects.
• Prepare asset-related schedules, reconciliations, and note disclosures for quarterly/annual reporting and audits.
• Coordinate with government property accountability, logistics, and accounting to investigate variances and support inventories.
