Job summary

St. Michael’s Inc. is seeking an Asset Accounting Lead/Senior Asset Accountant for an Intelligence Community client in Washington, DC. The role focuses on asset accounting, reporting, and reconciliations for PP&E, IUS, leases, and CIP, in a client-facing setting.

The position requires TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly, a degree in accounting or finance, and 5+ years of federal accounting experience. On-site work, with a comprehensive benefits package and potential discretionary bonus, are offered.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly required.
• 5+ years of Federal accounting experience.
• Demonstrated experience in PP&E, IUS, leases, depreciation and amortization, CIP, and asset-related financial statement support.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform asset accounting, reporting, and reconciliation for PP&E, IUS, leases, and CIP.
• Maintain asset accounting data including cost, dates, useful life, depreciation, location, custodian, condition, and disposal info.
• Perform monthly reconciliations across property management systems, GL, and financial statements; document and address reconciling items.
• Calculate and prepare depreciation and amortization entries per government methods and guidelines.
• Support acquisitions, transfers, disposals, retirements, impairments, lease activity, and CIP; identify stale CIP balances and transfer completed projects.
• Prepare asset-related financial statement schedules, reconciliations, notes, and audit documentation.
• Coordinate with Government property accountability, logistics, financial reporting, and accounting staff to investigate variances and support inventories.
