Job summary

Pearson is seeking an Advanced Specialist, Content Implementation to lead item and test development for statewide K–12 assessments. You will manage client-facing content requirements, coordinate cross-functional teams, and oversee AI-enhanced content workflows across paper and online modalities.

The role requires travel, strong communication, and expertise in assessment design. This is a full-time position based in Hawaii with opportunities to influence statewide education programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• 5+ years in educational testing and assessment with client-facing work.
• Experience with statewide K–12 item/test development (paper and online).
• Knowledge of psychometric principles relevant to development.
• Statewide assessment experience; classroom teaching valued.
• Proficiency with project and financial planning.
• Strong vendor management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills.
• Adaptability with enterprise systems and tools.
• Willingness to travel year-round.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert guidance on assessment design, content development, and evidence-based practices.
• Serve as primary client-facing contact for content development and educator committees.
• Translate standards into item and test specifications and secure approvals.
• Collaborate with Psychometrics on blueprint setup and data reviews.
• Configure item bank metadata and oversee form assembly for both formats.
• Create and monitor labor forecasts and participate in finance meetings.
• Lead scope discussions with vendors; initiate SOWs and manage escalations.
• Maintain schedules and manage change control and documentation.
• Identify risks, develop mitigations, and drive corrective actions.
• Communicate updates and manage customer review meetings effectively.
• Lead staffing with Content leadership and coach team members.
• Leverage AI tools to enhance content creation with compliance and provenance.
