PowerSecure, a Southern Company subsidiary, seeks an assembly expert focused on power generation equipment. The role emphasizes proficiency with measuring devices, hand tools, and electrical schematics while coordinating with engineering and planning teams to ensure quality assembly.

Ideal candidates will have experience in energy-related manufacturing or field service and can interpret torque values and wiring practices across diverse equipment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalency preferred; education plus experience considered.
  • 1 year in manufacturing/field service/construction in energy or similar preferred.
  • Read measuring devices to 1/16th of an inch.
  • Proficient with basic hand tools.
  • Troubleshooting skills required.
  • Electrical experience highly preferred.
  • Understand torque values and how they relate to components.
  • Electrical wire/cable routing and standard wiring workmanship.
  • Ability to read/execute electrical schematics/drawings/engineering sketches.
  • Ability to wire across equipment such as PEC, Tie Containers, Power Generation.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with engineering, planning and other departments.

Job description

Job Summary

This position functions as the subject matter expert for all assembly work and it is required to demonstrate proficiency in key tasks and knowledge throughout power generation assembly.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills)
  • High School Diploma or Equivalency are preferred. A combination of education and relevant work experience will be considered.

  • 1 year of manufacturing, field service or construction in the energy sector or similar industry preferred.

  • Must be able to read measuring devices to the 1/16th of an inch.

  • Must be proficient using basic hand tools.

  • Must have troubleshooting skills.

  • Electrical experience is highly preferred.

  • Must understand torque values and how they correspond to components.

  • Electrical wire and cable routing skills and the understanding of standard wiring workmanship as it pertains to quality.

  • Ability to read/execute electrical schematics and/or drawings, and engineering sketches.

  • Ability to wire across a wide range of equipment including but not limited to: Power Equipment Center (PEC), Tie Containers, Power Generation

  • Ability to work cross functionally with engineering, planning and other key departments.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • This position will require standing, stooping, bending, and limited lifting of up to 50lbs.

  • General manufacturing environment which may include non-conditioned and conditioned workspace.
