Job summary

PowerSecure, a Southern Company subsidiary, seeks a subject matter expert for all assembly work in power generation equipment. Demonstrated proficiency in measurement, wiring, and electrical schematics is essential.

The role requires reading devices to 1/16 inch, using basic hand tools, and collaborating with engineering and planning teams to ensure quality assembly and safe operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalency preferred or equivalent experience.
• 1 year of manufacturing, field service or construction in energy sector or similar preferred.
• Ability to read measuring devices to 1/16th of an inch.
• Proficiency with basic hand tools and troubleshooting.
• Electrical experience is highly preferred.
• Understanding torque values and their relation to components.
• Ability to read/execute electrical schematics and drawings.

• Demonstrate proficiency in key assembly tasks across PowerSecure power generation equipment.

Job Summary

This position functions as the subject matter expert for all assembly work and it is required to demonstrate proficiency in key tasks and knowledge throughout power generation assembly.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills)

• High School Diploma or Equivalency are preferred. A combination of education and relevant work experience will be considered.

• 1 year of manufacturing, field service or construction in the energy sector or similar industry preferred.

• Must be able to read measuring devices to the 1/16th of an inch.

• Must be proficient using basic hand tools.

• Must have troubleshooting skills.

• Electrical experience is highly preferred.

• Must understand torque values and how they correspond to components.

• Electrical wire and cable routing skills and the understanding of standard wiring workmanship as it pertains to quality.

• Ability to read/execute electrical schematics and/or drawings, and engineering sketches.

• Ability to wire across a wide range of equipment including but not limited to: Power Equipment Center (PEC), Tie Containers, Power Generation

• Ability to work cross functionally with engineering, planning and other key departments.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• This position will require standing, stooping, bending, and limited lifting of up to 50lbs.

• General manufacturing environment which may include non-conditioned and conditioned workspace.
