Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT, seeks Arrangement Senior Designers, Designers and Draftsmen to develop submarine equipment layouts and stowage. You will use CATIA, NX and AutoCAD to deliver precise design data supporting manufacture, assembly and test.

Applicants should have 6+ years of drafting experience and a strong CAD portfolio; familiarity with GD&T and military specs is preferred. On-site position with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 6+ years of relevant work experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency in drafting with CAD; NX preferred.
• Experience with CATIA, NX Team Center or AutoCAD is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform design related math functions.
• Communicate effectively with team members.
• Familiar with design standards, GD&T, military specs, manufacturing processes.
• Pursue on-the-job and continuing education to advance in design.
• Knowledge of animation software (Blender, 3D Studio Max).
• Familiar with NX or CATIA design systems.
• Demonstrate proficiency in CAD drafting (portfolio).
• Read and interpret drawings and blueprints.
• Able to present design work publicly.
