Job summary

The County of Riverside is seeking an Armorer for the Training and Education Bureau within the Sheriff’s Department to perform skilled maintenance and repair of firearms, inspect and test weapons for compliance, and participate in training activities. The ideal candidate will have Armorer or gunsmith experience and a High School diploma or GED.

Responsibilities include handling weapons used by sworn staff, maintaining inventories, and collaborating with weapon manufacturers and agencies, while

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED).
• AND Experience: One year as an Armorer with a law enforcement agency.
• Option II: Two years as gunsmith/armorer repairing and testing firearms.
• Option III: Any two of the listed certifications when applicable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, diagnose, repair, inspect, and test handguns, rifles, and shotguns.
• Inspect and test weapons involved in OIS and prepare related reports.
• Purchase and inventory weapons, ammunition, and cleaning supplies.
• Coordinate training programs with manufacturers and agencies.
