Job description

Role Overview

The Senior Architecture Project Manager (Science) at HDR will lead multidisciplinary teams on large and technical projects, ensuring successful project delivery through coordination, budget oversight, quality assurance, client relations, and staff mentorship. The role focuses on science and research lab projects that impact community well‑being worldwide.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and coordinate work of single or multidisciplinary teams throughout the project's lifecycle (from development & initiation to close‑out).
  • Assume responsibility for all aspects of large multidisciplinary projects or medium‑sized projects with high technical complexity involving a large project staff.
  • Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently.
  • Establish and maintain client relations, participating in marketing, contractual, design and production meetings.
  • Conduct work sessions for deliverable development in collaboration with staff and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate staffing and workload through the entire project life cycle, ensuring deliverables are completed on schedule.
  • Track financial aspects of projects, coordinating and adjusting work effort to stay within agreed‑to budget and schedule.
  • Work with Accounting, Operations and Business leadership for periodic project reviews.
  • Implement QA/QC procedures.
  • Supervise large project staffs and act as mentor for less‑experienced Project Managers.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
  • Due to client contract requirements, only candidates with US citizenship will be considered.
  • This position is subject to a government background check.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED.
  • Laboratory, R&D, Biotech, or Science experience.
  • PMP certification.
  • Preference given to local candidates.
Required Qualifications

  • Minimum five years of project management experience.
  • Registered Architect.
  • Must be able to lead a team on projects.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project).
  • Knowledge and experience within the local and regional market.
  • Good planning and mentoring skills.
