Job summary

Dewberry seeks an Architectural Specification Writer to join our expanding practice. You will develop project specifications, prepare manuals, and ensure design intent is maintained through all phases.

The role involves research, collaboration with designers, and QC reviews across multiple project types. With 10+ years in architecture, you will lead specification delivery, coordinate with clients and consultants, and contribute to standards while supporting the CA process and project bidding

Qualifications

10+ years of experience in architectural practice.
Minimum 3–5 years in specification development and delivery of project manuals.
Experience in delivering project technical documents and ability to interface with clients and consultants.
Excellent ability to lead project tasks with minimal supervision and deliver on deadlines.
Resume with experience in a large variety of public sector project types is a plus.

Responsibilities

Oversee the preparation of Project Manuals for projects of different scales and complexity.
Review drawings, documents, and team interviews to determine the extent of specification needs.
Write, edit, coordinate, and produce architectural outline specifications and 3-part specifications following CSI MasterFormat.
Perform QC review of design drawings for quality control and coordination.
Collaborate with project teams in product and material selection and research.
Coordinate with design teams and consultants and assist with material and system constructability analysis.
