Job summary

Utilidata, Inc. is seeking a technical leader to own the end-to-end KDE simulation platform, guiding development from sub‑millisecond control paths to system‑level orchestration.

You will drive time synchronization, deterministic replay, and data contracts used by algorithms, QA, product, and GTM teams. The role requires extensive experience in real-time, hardware-in-the-loop systems, and leading high‑performance engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in EE, CE, CS, Robotics, Physics, or related field.
• 10+ years in systems architecture, simulation platforms, real-time or hardware-in-the-loop systems, embedded systems, or high-performance distributed platforms.
• Hands-on leader of small, high-performing engineering teams.
• Track record delivering simulation platforms or large-scale test systems treated as production hardware.
• Depth in system-level behavior: scheduling, concurrency, memory, latency, jitter, and determinism.
• Experience with AC power distribution, control-loop dynamics, and protection systems.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end architecture of KDE as the simulation platform for development, testing, and validation.
• Architect systems spanning sub-millisecond to system-level time domains with coherent timing and deterministic behavior.
• Design and evolve the core simulation platform: time synchronization, data routing, deterministic replay, and APIs.
• Define and maintain performance envelope: latency, jitter, throughput, fidelity; lead full-stack optimization.
• Serve as the technical authority for simulation and validation with cross-team alignment.
• Build and lead an engineering team across real-time systems, simulation infra, and GPU calibration.
• Represent KDE on a cross-functional council, arbitrate priorities for platform capabilities.
