Job summary

VAA is seeking a Sr Architect to design and oversee projects across manufacturing, distribution, industrial facilities and grain handling. The role emphasizes managing budgets, coordinating multi-discipline teams and ensuring client satisfaction on complex, one-of-a-kind projects.

The candidate should bring a Bachelor of Architecture, NCARB certification with 10+ years' experience, plus 8 years in project management and 5 years in client-facing, with strong knowledge of codes and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited School of Architecture.
• Licensed Architect, NCARB certified with 10+ years' experience.
• 8 years Project Management experience.
• 5 years experience interacting directly with clients.
• 5 years supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review and execute proposals/contracts.
• Manage project budgets and identify additional services.
• Research, understand and manage client expectations to ensure scope is met.
• Schedule project team; assign tasks and track workflow.
• Provide weekly input on personnel scheduling for assignments.
• Keep Discipline Lead informed of progress, challenges and successes.
• Prepare, oversee production, review and certify specifications, drawings and reports.
• Perform QA/QC to ensure scope and criteria are met.
• Conduct construction site observation and provide written reports.
• Supervise, mentor and train Architects and staff.
