Job summary

Brooksource seeks a Senior Architect to lead project teams in designing a range of facilities from corporate to healthcare and data centers. You will direct production drawings, schedule and budget development, and ensure design compliance with codes and client needs.

Ideal candidates have NAAB-accredited degrees, 8+ years of experience, and a strong portfolio. Proficiency in BIM (Revit), CAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D rendering is preferred; leadership and clear communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Architecture from an NAAB accredited program and 8 years related experience.
  • Master Degree in Architecture from an NAAB accredited program and 7 years related experience.
  • Minimum eight years of architectural experience preferred.
  • Registered architect preferred.
  • Portfolio demonstrating design and graphic presentation skills is preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of standard architectural concepts, including building codes, ADA standards, exterior envelope design, technical detailing, and specification writing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a problem-solving environment and demonstrate critical thinking skills.
  • Expert software and computer skills preferred, including BIM (Revit), Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D rendering software.
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, and organization.
  • Experience in leading design teams for large, complex projects, delegating tasks, and guiding internal and client groups towards successful design outcomes.
  • Ability to conduct detailed quality reviews of architectural documents.
  • Experience with construction phase activities, including site visits, shop drawing review, and correspondence with contractors and client.

Responsibilities

  • Lead architectural design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion for project needs and requirements set forth by project managers.
  • Develop, modify, and review production drawings for healthcare facilities, airports, educational institutions, and governmental and military facilities.
  • Participate in development of project schedule, scope, budget staffing planning and construction planning; manage change orders.
  • Apply expert knowledge of architectural concepts, codes and procedures; compile studies and reports; write specifications.
  • Apply knowledge to complex projects and develop non-standard design solutions.
  • Quality review production drawings and project data for compliance with standards and constructability.
  • Quality review construction administration with field coordination for installation issues, calculations, inspections and testing.
  • Lead field inspections, installations, measurements or calculations for public and private clients.
  • Prepare and present technical reports for clients and industry publications.
  • Build relationships with clients and contractors and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Participate in sales and marketing efforts and lead key pursuits.
  • Lead development of cost proposals and qualification statements to meet targets.
  • Prepare, present and manage project budgets and report performance.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to architectural practice; mentor staff.
  • Ensure QA/QC process adherence.
  • Communicate with other architectural teams; ensure policy compliance.
  • Provide leadership to staff; ensure safety policies are followed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned; comply with all policies and standards.

Job description

Description The Senior Architect will lead project teams to create world class designs for new projects, alterations and redevelopments on a variety of project types including corporate, healthcare, sport venues, data centers, airports, institutional, industrial, manufacturing, government and military facilities. The Senior Architect will lead the project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting architectural plans according to budget constraints, environmental factors or client needs.

  • Lead architectural design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion for project needs and requirements that are set forth by the project managers.
  • Develop, modify, and review production drawings for healthcare facilities, airports, educational institutions, and governmental and military facilities.
  • Participate in development of project schedule, scope, budget staffing planning and construction planning. Responsible for effective management of change orders.
  • Applies expert knowledge of commonly used architectural concepts, practices, codes and procedures within the architectural industry. Compiles studies and reports. Writes specifications.
  • Applies knowledge and experience to complex projects, find's/develops non-standard design solutions.
  • Quality review production drawings for a variety of projects and project related data as required by the project managers to verify design compliance with project, client, and industry standards, including constructability.
  • Quality review the construction administration including coordination with field personnel to resolve design related installation issues, calculations, field inspections and testing of materials.
  • Leads field inspections, installation, measurements or calculations for public and private clients.
  • Prepare and present technical reports for clients and industry publications.
  • Build effective relationships with existing clients, customers and contractors and develop new business opportunities. Responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction goals and expectations are met.
  • Participate sales and marketing efforts and identify, lead and manage key pursuits.
  • Lead the development of cost proposals and qualification statements to achieve stated targets and standards for financial performance.
  • Prepare, present and manage project budgets and cost estimates. Report project performance.
  • Provide leadership, guidance and instruction to the architectural practice. Mentor and guide less experienced engineers.
