Job summary

GHD is seeking a Senior Architect to lead multiple design teams across a diverse US West portfolio. In this senior leadership role, you will align resources, strengthen technical and operational performance, and help deliver innovative, compliant solutions for clients and communities.

You will guide complex design and project management activities, mentor future leaders, manage budgets and schedules, and develop trusted client relationships.

Qualifications

• More than 15 years of architecture experience with deep technical expertise.
• More than 8 years of experience leading people and resources within governance.
• Master’s degree in architecture or equivalent.
• Professional registration is required; maintain credentials.
• Experience managing multiple projects with budgets, schedules, quality and risk.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to develop future leaders.
• Clear written and verbal communication for technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple design teams, aligning resources, priorities, schedules and delivery expectations across a varied project portfolio.
• Manage portfolio performance, budgets and reporting, escalating risks and resolving delivery constraints with senior leaders.
• Direct the design and validation of complex or innovative architectural solutions that meet client and regulatory requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement in engineering and business processes using metrics and lessons learned.
• Translate strategy into clear team priorities and motivate teams to achieve goals.
• Set performance objectives and hold leaders accountable to keep commitments on track.
• Coach team members and support continuing professional development and succession planning.
• Build productive relationships with clients and stakeholders and communicate decisions clearly.
• Support business development and strategic planning while fostering collaboration across offices.
