What Is the Opportunity?

Collaborative Environment, Transformational Projects, and a Growing Team! As a member of AI and Emerging Technology Architecture, this senior architect role partners with technology and business stakeholders to design and deliver solutions that create meaningful business impact.

Responsibilities
  • Apply hands‑on experience in AI/ML, generative AI, and agentic AI systems, including autonomous agent design, orchestration frameworks (LangChain, Strands, Crew AI), and integration patterns such as Model Context Protocol (MCP), to architect and implement scalable, production‑grade AI solutions aligned to line‑of‑business needs.
  • Partner with Lead Architects and domain teams to advance the enterprise AI solutions architecture practice, contributing reusable patterns, reference architectures, and design standards that promote consistency and interoperability across initiatives.
  • Translate business requirements into practical AI platform designs — spanning LLM integration, RAG pipelines, memory systems, and tool/function‑calling patterns — with a focus on delivering well‑governed, reliable, and cost‑effective solutions.
  • Support governance and risk processes that promote safe and compliant AI deployments, applying working knowledge of relevant frameworks such as the EU AI Act, NAIC, and NIST AI RMF, and demonstrating a commitment to responsible AI principles.
  • Stay current with the rapidly evolving AI platform landscape — including foundation model capabilities, agentic frameworks, and cloud AI services — and contribute insights that help shape the team's technical direction and roadmap.
  • Collaborate effectively across engineering, product, and business teams, communicating technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences and contributing to a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
  • Scope: responsible for architecture within one or more segments or domains for a single business unit.
  • Technical Execution: help define and lead technology proof of concepts to ensure feasibility of architecture solutions.
  • Participate in driving continuous technology transformation to minimize technical debt.
  • Conduct hands‑on prototyping and technology proof of concepts.
  • Partner with leadership to ensure proper alignment with technology direction and execution of proof of technologies.
  • Strategic Accountability: define target state architecture and roadmaps.
  • Proactively identify opportunities from emerging technology trends to minimize technical debt.
  • Support technology modernization initiatives.
  • Deliver comprehensive communications about architectural direction.
  • Cultivate strong relationships and secure buy‑in.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Technical Expertise & Education: Bachelor’s in technology related field or equivalent, with 8 years of architecture experience.
  • Strong architecture and recent hands‑on engineering experience with modern technologies.
  • Successfully architected large‑scale technology initiatives.
  • Leadership & Influence: advanced leadership skills with the ability to take action even when there is no clear owner, inspire and motivate others, and be effective at influencing team members.
  • Strategic & Business Acumen: extensive experience working in an agile operational model; experience supporting transformational change; ability to adjust plans, priorities and strategies in response to changing circumstances.
  • Insurance technology experience preferred.
  • Understanding of value creation and business capability models.
  • Strong knowledge of the insurance industry.
  • Experience in identifying and analyzing current/future problems and opportunities, evaluating information to understand root causes, and exploring alternative solutions for effective decision‑making.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with teammates to achieve mutually responsible results.
  • Extensive experience exercising sound judgment, making decisions and committing to a position.
  • Strong and effective verbal, written and listening communication skills.
  • Hands‑on experience in AI/ML development and deployment, with working knowledge of core ML algorithms and neural network architectures.
  • Familiarity with MLOps & AI Ops practices and CI/CD for AI/ML workflows.
  • Applied experience with generative AI foundation — including LLMs, transformer architectures, and prompt engineering techniques.
  • Hands‑on experience with agentic coding tools such as Claude Enterprise/CLI/Code, OpenAI Codex, and GitHub Copilot.
  • Working experience with agentic AI patterns — tool use, function calling, RAG pipelines, memory systems, vector databases, and multi‑agentic orchestration.
  • Familiarity with agent orchestration frameworks (LangChain, Strands, Crew AI) and integration protocols such as MCP.
  • Experience with cloud AI services AWS Bedrock including AgentCore (optional: Azure Foundry/Agent 365, or GCP/Gemini AI), with awareness of multi‑cloud and SaaS AI and agentic capabilities.
  • Working knowledge of responsible AI principles, AI ethics, and compliance considerations relevant to production AI deployments.
  • Awareness of AI governance frameworks and risk management practices, with ability to apply established standards within defined guardrails.
  • Must have: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, related STEM field, or its equivalent; 6 additional years of architecture/software engineering experience.
Benefits
