Job description

H2M architects + engineers , a multidiscipline architectural, engineering, environmental consulting firm seeks a licensed Senior Architect to join our team in our NYC office.

Come join our multi-disciplined team of architects and engineers. We're looking for a Sr. Architect with 10+ years' experience in the New York City School Construction Authority (SCA) design procedures, CAD production and document coordination. In this role, you will work in developing and executing SCA design work. Experience with building envelope inspection and construction is desired. Strong verbal and written skills are required, while following SCA Design standards. You will also coordinate the efforts of both in-house and outside teams who handle structural engineering, MEP design, civil and environmental engineering services.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain / develop relationships with key client personnel for client satisfaction
  • Manage all aspects of client relations including attending meetings.
  • Makes decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and have an important impact on extensive architectural activities.
  • Key role in development of projects, from scope phase through construction documents and services during construction administration
  • Ability to demonstrate creativity, foresight and mature architectural judgment in anticipating and solving unprecedented architectural problems.
  • Determine compliance with technical documents, SCA specific standards, NYC codes and all remaining AHJ requirements (MTA, DEP, FDNY, etc.)
  • Involved in the analysis of client problems in conceiving and developing architectural solutions to those problems.
  • Perform other like duties as assigned.

Education and Qualifications

  • 10+ years of architectural design experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of Architectural Design.
  • Exceptional knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Exposure to Revit and other BIM software
  • SCA experience is required
  • The ability to work and thrive in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of project specifications & CSI division formatting.
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture required. Master's preferred.
  • Professional RA required.

The salary range for this role is $110,000 - $150,000 annually.
