Job summary

Civicworks seeks an Archaeologist III to conduct cultural resource surveys and manage archaeological research across state lands in Florida. The role involves frequent travel to state parks, forests and wildlife areas to assess sensitivity, locate sites and oversee the permit program.

You will perform field surveys, laboratory analysis and report writing, contribute to National Register nominations, and engage in public outreach to support site preservation and protection.

Qualifications

• Six years of professional experience in Anthropology, Archaeology, or related field (or Master's degree substitute).
• At least two years of professional archaeological field experience including survey, excavation, and mapping.
• Technical archaeological experience including laboratory analysis, report writing, and data management.
• Knowledge of pertinent state and federal cultural resource legislation.
• Proficiency with geophysical survey methods such as ground-penetrating radar and RTK GPS.
• Experience leading cultural resource surveys and preparing professional reports.
