Job summary

ERM seeks a Senior Consultant, Archaeologist to lead cultural resources projects across Nevada and the Great Basin. Based in Nevada, with a preference for Elko, this role guides high-impact studies, mentors talent, and strengthens client relationships while advancing ERM’s cultural resources practice.

You will oversee multi-state investigations, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and support business development for energy and infrastructure projects in a sustainable framework.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or closely related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3-4 years of related paid experience.
• RPA qualification with SHPO requirements in the Great Basin.
• Field leadership for inventory, survey, testing, or data recovery.
• Experience authoring or reviewing agency technical reports (NEPA sections, etc.).
• Experience with regulatory interactions as a consultant.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and travel to field sites.
• Experience with mapping equipment and field technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead archaeological projects across the Great Basin and U.S., ensuring quality and technical excellence.
• Mentor archaeologists and support team growth and succession planning.
• Strengthen client relationships and pursue new business opportunities.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver sustainable solutions for energy and infrastructure clients.
• Provide QA/QC reviews of deliverables and supervise field investigations.
• Serve as signing Principal Investigator or Task Manager for major studies.
• Obtain permits (BLM CR Use Permits) and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Travel to field sites and manage subcontractor performance as required.
