Job summary

UPMC is hiring a Senior AR Account Specialist to support the Revenue Cycle Reporting department. This position would work Monday through Friday during business hours. This role has the ability to be fully remote.

In this role, you will be responsible for recovering self-pay balances by reviewing account files daily and researching insurance coverage through payer portals. As the AR Account Specialist Senior, you will identify applicable coverage and ensure accounts are billed accurately.

Qualifications

• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to navigate multiple screens at a time.
• Ability to communicate with multiple levels of management.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Managed assigned book of business by ensuring the timeliness and accuracy of billing.
• Identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Verify accuracy of patient account demographics and insurance info.
• Review payer portals to research coverage and resolve self-pay balances.

• Maintain productivity and quality benchmarks as defined by leadership.
• Provide peer training and act as the go-to person for escalated accounts.
