Penn Medicine is a leading academic medical center dedicated to patient care, research, and education. This AR billing role supports the Physician Billing Office A in identifying issues, planning improvements, and guiding AR staff toward timely reimbursements.

You will collaborate with clinical, technical, and business professionals across disciplines to drive national leadership in AR practices within an academic setting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years progressive experience in physician billing, preferably in an academic setting.
• H.S. Diploma or GED is required.
• Bachelor of Arts or Science is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identifies, reports and creates plans to resolve issues preventing accurate and timely payment of accounts.
• Assists AR management in creating and implementing plans, policies, procedures and training material for AR staff.
• Reviews monthly collections for patterns in rejections preventing reimbursement.
• Serves as an internal resource to AR personnel.
• Takes an active role, often as project leader, for startup of new programs.
• Provides expertise and project coordination for effective AR management as objectives are established or revised.
• Prepares monthly reports detailing payment posting for General Ledger contract accounts.
