Job summary

St Cloud Area Family YMCA is seeking an Aquatics Operations Leader to manage indoor/outdoor pools, safety programs, and staff scheduling. The role includes supervising lifeguards, teaching CPR/Water Safety, and coordinating swim lessons and events within the Y facility.

The position emphasizes supervision, training, regulatory compliance, and ongoing program growth as the outdoor water park expands in 2027. Weekend rotation and on-site duties are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2 years aquatic staff supervisory experience required.
• 2 years waterpark operations experience strongly preferred; e.g., waterpark supervisor/manager.
• Lifeguard and LGI certification; CPO License preferred.
• Completion of YMCA program certifications and required trainings.
• Ability to relate to diverse groups of people.

Responsibilities

• Oversees indoor/outdoor pools and whirlpool operations in the Aquatic Director's absence.
• Develops, schedules, and supervises open swim, lessons, rentals, and events.
• Expands aquatic programs and alignment with membership goals.
• Maintains safety, records for chemicals, and staff certifications.
• Leads recruitment, training, and performance management of aquatic staff.
• Ensures regulatory compliance and risk management across facilities.
