Job summary

Camunda is hiring a Senior Information Security Engineer (AppSec) to join a small, senior team embedded in our product and engineering groups. You will shape secure Java services in a modern CI/CD, SaaS environment, strengthen AppSec tooling, and influence customer trust and adoption.

This role is developer-centric and hands-on, with remote collaboration across CET to Eastern Time hours. You’ll partner across the SDLC, lead vulnerability management, perform secure design reviews, and help

Qualifications

• Strong Software engineering and secure coding background with Java services.
• Experience in secure SDLC, architecture reviews and threat modelling.
• Vulnerability management and security tooling experience in CI/CD environments.

Responsibilities

• Partner with engineering teams throughout the SDLC to embed security by design.
• Lead and evolve AppSec tooling and workflows (SAST/DAST/SCA) in CI/CD.
• Drive vulnerability management for applications and supply chain.
• Perform secure design reviews and threat modeling for distributed systems.
• Coordinate security incidents and escalations with stakeholders.
• Support audits and customer assurance activities.
