Citizens Bank in Atlanta, GA is seeking an experienced Mortgage Appraisal Reviewer to ensure collateral meets portfolio and investor guidelines and complies with Federal/State law.

The role requires reviewing collateral documentation, maintaining knowledge of Mortgage Lending policies, and communicating with internal teams to uphold quality and compliance standards.

Qualifications

  • Licensed / Certified Appraiser required.
  • Three years or more mortgage or consumer loan underwriting experience; appraisal review preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with internal and external clients.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Review collateral to ensure compliance with laws, policies and guidelines.
  • Develop understanding of Mortgage Lending products, policies and collateral needs.
  • Obtain collateral documentation from internal and external sources as required.
  • Perform detailed collateral review to meet portfolio/investor guidelines.
  • Escalate collateral issues and determine next steps.
  • Communicate with other departments to meet pipeline metrics and quality standards.
  • Adhere to compliance regulations and controls.
  • Build positive relationships with coworkers, clients and partners.

Description

Responsible for reviewing property valuations to ensure compliance Federal/State law and Citizen’s risk policy to ensure that loans secured with real estate are protected with adequate collateral value.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Successfully use critical thinking and analytical skills to review collateral.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of Mortgage Lending products, policies, processes, and their collateral requirements.
  • Obtain required collateral documentation per program requirements from internal clients, external clients, vendors, and third-party sources.
  • Perform detailed review of all collateral documentation to ensure that loans meet portfolio and investor guidelines.
  • Identify and determine next steps for collateral issues that have been escalated.
  • Consistently communicate with other departments and sales to ensure pipeline metrics and quality guidelines are met.
  • Adhere to all compliance regulations and controls.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationship with co-workers, internal and external clients, business partners and vendors.
  • Cultivate relationships with peers as a peer mentor.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

  • Licensed / Certified Appraiser
  • Three years or more of mortgage or consumer loan underwriting experience - appraisal review experience strongly preferred
  • Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal, in relating to internal and external clients
  • Demonstrates proficiency in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office software products

Preferred Qualifications:

  • FHA DE (CHUMS) / VA SAR/LAPP
  • Appraisal review or field experience with residential appraising
  • Experience with using appraisal and market evaluation tools
  • Demonstrates proficiency in mortgage automated processing systems
  • Basic knowledge of bank services and products
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent education and related training

Hours & Work Schedule

  • Hours per Week: 40 hours
  • Work Schedule: Mon - Friday 8am - 5pm

Pay Transparency

The salary range for this position is $39.23 - $44.37 per hour. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, budget and relevant skills and experience.
