Job summary

The Trade Desk is seeking an experienced data scientist to advance retail data measurement and reporting at scale. You will own end-to-end retail conversion datasets, build pipelines, and apply rigorous statistics to project metrics while handling missing data and bias.

Your work will influence product decisions and require collaboration with engineers, scientists, and product managers. Ideal candidates have strong Python/SQL skills, hands-on experience with distributed computing

Qualifications

• BS/MS with 4+ years or a PhD with 2+ years in a DS/ML role that brings products from ideation to production.
• Experience working with retail, panel, survey, or conversion data and reasoning about bias in downstream estimates.
• Experience estimating populations from partial or biased samples with honest error bounds via resampling.
• Proficient in Python and SQL.

Responsibilities

• Own our retail conversion datasets end to end and be the team\'s expert on these sources and convergence points.
• Explore and process data from diverse retail sources, building datasets and pipelines used by downstream measurement.
• Apply rigorous statistics to scale and project measurement numbers, impute missing data, and produce reports with bias and uncertainty in mind.
• Monitor data quality and stability of metrics, distinguishing real shifts from noise.
• Reason about how retail data feeds conversion lift, geo lift, and attribution, validating robustness on real data.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders and communicate learnings to guide product decisions toward robust solutions.
