Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Senior Applied Scientist to join the SCOT OSS team in Bellevue, WA. You will lead science efforts to measure supplier capabilities, manage disruptions, and optimize inbound freight for a global network.

You will design and productionize ML and Gen AI solutions, mentor junior scientists, and collaborate with software engineers to build scalable, monitored pipelines. A PhD or MSc with strong research and programming skills is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years building ML models for business applications.
• PhD or MSc plus 6+ years of applied research experience.
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language.
• Experience with neural deep learning methods and ML.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the Science team, setting standards for rigor and innovation.
• Build solutions for collaborative inventory planning with vendors or humans-in-the-loop methods.
• Pioneer Gen AI solutions for dispute evaluation and vendor coaching, with production deployment guardrails.
• Drive the full development cycle from ideation to production-scale deployments.
• Collaborate with SDEs to build scalable training and inference pipelines and productionize workflows.
