Amazon Science in New York is seeking a Senior Applied Scientist to own the science for our next-gen intelligent ad flywheel. You will build self-improving models and define decision policies that enable autonomous actions with advertiser trust.

You will collaborate with software engineers to deploy model artifacts into production, shaping the roadmap for the Model Layer and influencing multiple engineering workstreams with high autonomy and leverage.

Qualifications

• 3+ years building machine learning models for business applications.
• PhD or Master’s degree with 6+ years of applied research.
• Proficiency in Java, C++, or Python.

Responsibilities

• Build predictive issue-detection models for under-delivery, over-delivery, and performance degradation.
• Design the intervention-selection policy framed as a contextual bandit.
• Establish causal attribution for autonomous optimization.
• Integrate cross-model signals and adapt partner models to product reality.
• Define reward schemas and feed insights to product and science teams.
