Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Sr. Manager, Applied Science within Network Planning Solutions in Seattle to own scientific innovation and research initiatives.

You will lead a team of applied scientists, collaborating with cross-functional partners to deploy breakthrough AI/ML solutions that redefine our global network. You will design and validate next-generation AI-native models, ensuring explainability and seamless integration with existing systems, while transforming research into production-ready

Qualifications

10+ years building large-scale ML/AI solutions at Internet scale.
Master's degree in Computer Science (Machine Learning, AI, Statistics, or equivalent).
Experience building large-scale ML/AI solutions at Internet scale.
Experience distilling informal customer requirements into well-defined problems.
Experience hiring and leading scientists and mentoring junior members.

Responsibilities

Develop and deploy production-ready demand forecasting algorithms using real-time signals.
Build network optimization algorithms that adjust staffing as conditions evolve.
Architect scalable AI/ML infrastructure for forecasting and optimization across the system.
Lead and mentor a team of applied scientists to deliver breakthroughs.
Design experiments to validate hypotheses and quantify business impact.
Partner with Engineering, Product, and Operations to translate AI/ML into measurable outcomes.
